GENERAL MANAGEMENT

TAIHI CHIN was born in Kobe, Japan, where she began studying the violin at the age of six. She was taught by Yoko Kitaura and Prof. Tomotada Soh of the Royal Academy of Music in London. Soon after, Taihi won the All-Japan Competition and - as a result - was invited to perform with orchestras in Japan, Germany and Austria.

Taihi also studied with Sayaka Mabuchi and Machie Oguri (Tokyo College of Music). In 2012, she was invited to perform Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Telemann Symphony Orchestra conducted by Takeharu Nobuhara. Taihi's outstanding virtuosity on the violin garnered her another top competition prize in 2016 at the Japan Classic Competition, cementing her reputation as one of her country's best young talents. Many engagements followed, including a stellar Paganini First Concerto at Osaka's Izumi Symphony Hall.

Following her national achievements, she received a scholarship in Violin Performance from Japan's premier arts school, Soai High School, and later on a full scholarship from Manhattan School of Music in the USA, where she graduated with both a Bachelor and Master degree in 2023, under the tutelage of Lucie Robert - apprentice of legendary violinist Josef Gingold. While in New York, Taihi was the recipient of the coveted Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition Prize in 2022. She has also studied with renowned violinists Victor Danchenko, Oleh Krysa, Gerard Poulet, Dmitri Berlinsky and Tedi Papavrami.

Since 2023 she has been Concertmaster at Sichuan Symphony Orchestra in China - one of the country’s top ensembles - and is a regular concertmaster with orchestras in the USA, Canada, China and Spain. Also an admired soloist with a rising reputation, Taihi has recently performed concertos with Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga and Manila Symphony Orchestra.

She plays on a rare instrument made by the legendary Goffredo Cappa in 1686.
