Alexander Prior joins Weller Artists Management for General Management.

Weller Artists is delighted to welcome Alexander Prior to its roster for General Management.

Former chief conductor of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, prodigy Prior can already look back at a critically acclaimed, international career spanning over 18 years. At 13 he had enrolled at the renowned St. Petersburg Conservatory and graduated with top honors at just 17, a feat only previously achieved once before - by Sergei Prokofiev. Alex was immediately appointed as an assistant conductor with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and since then the Seattle area has remained his home-base.

He has performed among many others with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig, the Camerata Salzburg, the Copenhagen Phil, the Calgary Philharmonic, the RTVE - Spanish Radio Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Deustche Staatsphilharmonie Saarbrücken, the Brevard Festival Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and the Kristiansand, Helsingborg, and Aarhus Symphony Orchestras.

Operatic engagements include collaborations with the Bayerische Staatsoper, Leipzig Opera, the Royal Danish Opera, Vancouver Opera, Frankfurt Opera where he will return in 25/26 and the Edmonton Opera.

Equally succesful as composer, Alex’s orchestration of Schubert’s WINTERREISE has been critically acclaimed (excerpts can be found on his YouTube channel) and will receive a world-premier recording in season 24/25; and he has received exclusive permission from the Sibelius family and estate to orchestrate Sibelius’ quartet “Voces Intimae”.

His music has also been performed by the Royal Philharmonic, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Edmonton Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, and the BBC Singers.
